There were two types of aluminum one barrel intakes made for slant sixes. One was a two piece design, the other was a one piece design. The one piece design came on 80s era trucks and vans and is the better design. The two piece design came in the late 70s/early 80s and is known to have problems with air leaks on the poorly welded seam. That being said, a good thick layer of paint might be all you need to seal up a two piece model. You should also be aware that the aluminum intakes are known to crack directly below the carb in the "hot-spot" where the intake and exhaust manifolds meet, right around the EGR port. |

Five. ('60 sandcast, '60 semipermanent-mould cast, '76 Feather Duster/Dart Lite 1-piece sandcast, '78-'82ish 2-piece EB-welded, '82ish-up 1-piece sandcast)

![]() True, but the chances of seeing the 1960 pieces are slim to none, same with the Feather Duster intake. Yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking with it. ![]() |

I am running one and love it. It warms up real quick on cold mornings. Click on the red link below my name to see pictures of it. It is a very heavy thick casting I found on a 82 truck. |
