lmao im new too the slant 6 world basically cause i didnt want this truck to be junked
The previous owner was in over his head 1982 Dodge 225 when he got the truck it had a mallory hyfire, electronic dist, mallory coil, now i havent torn into it yet but its not getting fire, Now he put a new distributor plugs, wires, fuelpump, redid the exhaust, which he should have diagnosed the problem before ( throwing parts at it) all i have done a visual and an owner at some point took the ballast resistor out , now im wondering if the distributor is even in right , but it is a wiring nightmare under the hood , any ideas , im thinking about ripping all the engine wiring out to start over , What do i need to get this wired up minimal , no extra stuff just to get it drivable

The simplest and quickest is to install a old points type distributor. You could have it running in about 10 minutes.
However, you might want to trace all the wires out and make yourself a diagram of what you have. That way you can compare it to a stock diagram and decide if you want to install an HEI. Who knows the Mallory box could be dead.
My son bought a Mallory red box a few years ago. It ran for about 3 months and something cooked inside.
He is sticking with his Crane setup.
