I have a 1982 D-150 with a slant six and it as the lean burn. I would like to convert it to Elec ingtion. Can I buy a conversion kit for it? Also my carburator is shot and I would like to get one that would go with the conversion kit if possiable.

There is no "kit", but you will need to purchase a new carb, new distributor, and a new ignition system. See here and here. Do you have a one or two barrel carb? This will determine what replacement carb you get.

Reed is correct in that there is no 'kit' for a slant 6,BUT, there is a 'kit' for v-8 MoPars.I didn't have the benefit of this forum when I converted my 83 leanburn and I do have some non-slant Dodges so I went shopping at Summit.I purchased an MoPar conversion for point type ign systems, used dist in a 360, picked up a proper /6 dist and used the 'orange box',conversion wiring harness and instructions in the 'kit',easy peasy, done. That being said I'm still planning to do the HEI conversion and it would probably be an excellant time for you to just go ahead and Git r done.Good luck :)

If you get stuck I have an 82 that I converted to HEI. PM me and maybe I could talk you thru it. It was an afternoon project.

Its a 1945 elec bowl vent, single barrel carburator. Would a 1945 with out a elec bowl vent work?

Yup on the 1945, so long as the replacement carb has no electronics.

Swapping from lean burn to HEI is EXTREMELY easy, even more so that going from Lean Burn to normal electronic ignition. All you ned to do is wire up the HEI distributor and use the black (+) wire going to the coil as the (+) feed for the relay providing power to the HEI unit. That's it.
