| Post subject: | 225 Oil Slinger Break In Steps |
Hi I posted in June, putting together a 225 in a Coronet 440. Then I got hit by a car on my motorcycle, after hospital and recovery I'm back at it! I suffered 2 broken wrists and a broken pelvis... lost some flexibility in the hands. I can't remember wich way the oil slinger faces? I had the motor rebuilt after getting good advice from here and Doug D. My sister works for Franklin auto in Redding, Mark did a beautifull job, unleaded seats new valves, 10 over on the pistons! Putting it all back together now. Once I get the head on and valve train installed, what the the best process for priming, start-up and break in? Its been years! thanks Vic |

Slinger faces with the outside towards the timing cover. If you try to put it on the other way it will rub on the chain. |

I was wondering what happened to you and your project... It is good to hear that you are healing and that the project did not go by the "way-side". Did the head get some port clean-up work while it was apart? Keep asking detailed questions, work on it "bit-by-bit" and you will have this car going in no time! DD |

If you want me to take a quick look at the head prior to install, send me a PM so we can schedule something. What do you have for an oil pump?? DD |
