question : will a instrument panel voltage regulator from a 64 dart slant six
fit and work properly on a 66 chrysler 300.
are they the same part ? both appear to have three male tabs that fit into circuit board.if not does any body have links to a new one for the 300?

Answer is "no", because there is no separate external instrument cluster voltage limiter on a '64 Dart — on that car the limiter is built into the temperature gauge. If you have an external voltage limiter marked "64 Dart", it's not marked correctly.

Me, I prefer the solid-state limiter available from R/T Engineering.

thanx for link -thats what i was hoping a company was making something
better and more reliable than original limiter. i just ordered one and from the
specs it sound like a great deal -especially if your wiring is a little funky and
old .this limiter may save your gauges if there is a short or other problem
thanx again

Yup - that is why I put one of R/T Engineering's limiters on my '71, it is why I've got one (and an upgraded ammeter) on order from them for my '73, and it is why I will eventually have them upgrade the ammeter and rework the limiter for my '62.

I'm so glad you mentioned those R/T limiters! I did the 5v regulator project after mine went out and smoked my gas and temp gauges. The result is OK but less than good - the gauges take a long time to register when you start the car, and I'm pretty sure they are reading low.
I was going to order one of theirs, but the price was a little high. Do the gauges act normal - quicker and accurate? If they do, I'll go ahead and order one.
Having gauges I don't trust takes away too much fun out of driving the old car. :(

Yup — they come up to readings quickly with the R/T limiter.

I wish — if that were the case I wouldn't have had to drop a whack of PayPal cash on 'em for my most recent order!
