| Post subject: | disabling TQ lockup ? |
I read in my Torqueflite Tranny book that the lock up can be disabled in my 998 Trans by installing a shim in the actuator. Apart from that no data is given as to the size or conf. of said shim. Anyone ever done this? Thanks, Chris |

Why would you want to disable the lockup? It will not engage for racing and when you are on the highway it improves milage. |

I have considered all the possibilities and I want to try it. It will not engage for racing and when you are on the highway it improves milage. It looks (from the book) like a fairly simple process. Easy to do, and easy to undo if I don't like it. I am just trying to get an idea for shim thickness etc from anyone who has tried it. Thanks C |

I Have never done it so I couldnt tell you how. But I don't think getting under the car, dropping the pan, disableing the lockup, putting it back together, and refilling the trans just in case I may like getting worse milage sounds easy to me. |
