That's a casting number off the side of the block.......need the numbers on the deck right behind/under the alternator. |

No worry... all the parts in the engine rebuild kit are the same for either a 198 or a 225. DD |

If you get a "master kit" that includes con rods and crank, then you can turn your 198 into a 225... the block and all the other parts are the same. (Be sure to keep your "core" 198 con rods!) DD |

Rebuilding the original engine (if yours is in fact the original engine) does not spoil its numbers-matching originality. The rebuild kit does not contain any parts that would change a 198 engine into a 225 engine or the other way around. |

The number you posted (1e128469) is not the engine ID number. Check again, carefully. You're looking for a number stamped on a thin surface that faces the sky, directly below #1 spark plug, inboard of the coil mounting bracket. |

What is the number stamped on the ledge behind the alternator and under the #1 plug? Any chance your car has an emissions sticker listing the idle speed and plug gap and such? That sticker will give the engine displacement. |

the connecting rod on one side says AAVV 2B and the other side says 2951250 HYG now the number on the ledg i belive you are talking about says 1E128469 |
