i was looking at a carter bbd on craigslist.in the picture(frontal view) there is a black plastic cap on one side of the carb like an electric choke fitting.when i called the seller to check it out.he said there was no electrical hookup,but there is a hollow,smooth black tube protruding from the back of the cap.(vacuum fitting?)the black cap is labelled "carter climactic choke".
i was looking at this for my d 150 when i upgrade it.but i'm not sure if this is compatible.
any ideas people?

It's a heat tube type choke. Common on non-Mopars. Can be replaced with an electric choke, but you've still got non-Mopar linkage and other hookups to hassle with. Probably best to move on and find something more compatible.
