| Post subject: | Disc master with drum brakes? |
While changing the carpet on my 64 dart I've found the MC to be leaking fluid pretty badly. I will eventually put disc brakes in the car but not for awhile. I do have the disc/drum MC already. Any reason I cant use this with drums all around? too much pressure for wheel cylinders? or should I get the drum/drum dual MC from 67 and up cars. |

The disc master lacks the residual pressure valves needed with pre-'73 drum brake wheel cylinders to keep air out of the system. You'll want to use a drum master for now. |

I believe the springs in all rebuilt or new whl cyls eliminate the need for resid pressure valves. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it, but this is a potential safety issue so you didn't hear that from me... Lou |

I figure I'll try it and if it feels fine great if not, then I'll worry about it. it's not going on freeways and it will get discs eventually so it's not a permanent fix. |
