So here is what i did do:

i replaced the points dizzy whit the electronic one, then i replaced the stock coil whit a msd Blaster 2 Coil and i used a mallory HEI module and got rid off the ballast resistor.

i wired it up as told here on the forum(atleast i think i did)
it al worked fine, my car was runing better then ever before.

but now after 2 to 3 years it just died!
i had it runing on idle propably like an hour or so(it was winter here at the time and usualy on days when its not below frezing i fire it up and let i run so it gets a litel exersise during the none drive season)and out of no where it just died and wouldent start.

i have cheked a lot of stuf and it sems to be the coil(cant check the module thou)and the dizzy sems to be ok,i came to the conlusion that it must be the coil and the reson to that is:

i put back the points dizzy and removed the HEI module and the car did start but run porly.i tried to adjust the timing but nothin helped.so then i tok an old dirty crapy and ugly coil that i found in my garage and put it in
the car started rightaway and run perfectly.

so now i wonder whot might have caused the coil failure,am i using wrong parts or what?

Since MSD has been producing coils in China the quality has suffered. I myself use an HEI coil from a GM vehicle.

I think the E-core coils like the factory HEI coil are very good, but of course they don't look anything like the original. Original coils are of good quality, but as you found the MSD coil was not of good quality. If you want an original canister coil, just clean up the one you have and run it. For our cars the HEI coil may or may not be a performance improvement, but they were designed to be used with the HEI module.
