Doc,
I had a Carter on it and it did the same thing. Thats when I went to the new Holley.
The cam and valve train assembly is stock. New valves and hardened seats.
What I can't figure out is that it did the same thing before it was rebuilt.It also wanted to overheat before rebuilding. Recored radiator and now it isn't overheating but gets plenty hot. I had the exhaust valves at .020, then .018, but had to go tighter to get them to quiet down. Doesn't pop at the tail pipe but does have that miss.
Seems to be a valve or valve timing problem but its got me stunned.
