So I have my (75'-80') head in the shop getting 1.44 1.70 valves put in. After that we will cc the head, guessing avg of 60cc. so using a calc these are my figures, am I missing something?

What I have:
60 cc (guestimation)
3.440 bore
.175 deck
Felpro 3.5 & .037
stock stroke 4.125

= 8:1

I would like 10:1 and that means .100 (45cc) off the head and .045 off the block. I also have a Clifford 264 cam, 1.5 stock adj rockers w shorter push rodsand yes, damper dual springs.

Stroke of a 225 is 4.125". You do have a 225 correct?

Ok, so this is where I'm actually at 7.8:1. So .100 off 60cc is 45cc and .045 off the block puts me right at 10:1. Glad I asked, now I can bookmark this page.

If milling both the block and the head, I would take the heaver cut off the block & leave the head as thick as possible. (the block is a bigger, thicker, more stable piece of cast iron so it takes the heavy cut a little better)
