Hey guys just wondering which T-stat to pick, told the kid at the parts store I wanted a 180deg, and I checked the P/N after I got home, and he gave me a F@&$ing 195 WTF ??!!, Its silly hot (FL summer weather) with everyday last week hitting well over 90 out i figured 180 would be a fair compromise, but a 160 is also available, would it hurt anything to run a 160 ??? ( I also have a pretty sweet cooling fan I got from a buddy of mine from the BMW he works at so that will be installed as well)

second question, I have a cliffy 4BBl mani and was going to run the eddy carb (hey it was free and really only cost me about $23 for the rebuild kit) i wanted to run some kind of "heatsink" between the carb and mani but didn't know if I should run an aluminium spacer or a phelonic one, didn't know which would dissapate heat better, and I also saw teds aluminium plate set up, but didn't know which would be better, the plate or the spacer and which material,

The Plate............surface area will dissipate more heat faster than a spacer
I personally use a wooden hand crafted spacer with an aluminum plate on top. Wood works better than ant thing you can buy. If you have the patience and a small jig saw it's basically free

I use a 1" wooden spacer (spray painted w/clear urethane) Krylon brand.
For the aluminum heat spacer I use 1/4 X 4" X 8". Offset it to cover exhaust manifold. MaX

If you are running a carb I'd use a 180 in hot weather 90 to 100 degrees
In the winter 32 to 80 = 195 degrees
where it's frigid 32 on down= 200 205 210

hope this helps MaX
