Hey,

I pulled out the dash of my 67 vc valiant.
now if I turn the key etc it won't start, what wires do I have to connect to what to get this to work....?

You need to re-connect the large black & red wires that went to the alturnator gauge.

Should he just bolt both wires together to each other, or put the Alt gauge between them?

Just bolt them together.
You may want to look for the neutral safety switch if automatic.

Bolt & nut the two eyes (black & red) together tightly, and tape the splice up using 3M’s 33 electrical tape, “the good stuffâ€￾. You don’t want that wire grounding out & melting everything back to the battery while it is flopping around with no dash to protect it, or its connection coming loose. The amp gage need not be connected.
