Hi all,

I was wondering wich of this two ballast resistors should be used with the Orange and with the Chrome MP ECU or maybe is the same ballast for both.

One is 0,25 OHM http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DCC-2444641/
and the other is 1.0 OHM http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DCC-5206436/

In any case I will be using the MP ECU box with the MP Chrome coil package ( I belive it's a MSD Blaster II coil).

I run a search on the forum and I checked the wiring diagrams on the Tech Articles and I couldn't find this info.

Also is it good to think that if the Orange box is OK up to 6000RPM on a V8 engine, then it will be OK up to 8000 on a /6? Or I'm I totally wrong and I should go with the Chrome ECU instead of the Orange?

Thanks! Martin

Run a 1990's era Orange Box and have had no problems with spark up to about 6200 rpm on my 225 builds...Not sure how the new ECU's are holding out, quality-wise.

Not sure my car is of the dual ballast resistor era, so I run a "Stock" replacement from Standard...

Use the one ohm. The .25 ohm is for the Chrome box and drag racing, not extended street running.
The other option is run a 3 ohm HEI coil and toss the resistor. Click on the red link below my name to view the one I am running.

I had been running the .85 ohm MSD resistor and Chrome MSD coil Blaster 2 coil with an old orange box. The plugs were tan, now they are bright white. The idle is awesome, never misses a beat.
