My van overheats when I am on the freeway for more than 15 minutes. At that time the temp is gradually raising. But when I get off the freeway it starts cooling down and is in normal range in a few minutes.
This happens when the outside temperature is over 80 degrees. On cool days this is not a problem.

Is this a radiator or water pump problem? Or something else?

Clogged radiator or thermostat isn't opening enough.

Take out the thermostat and see what happens. (test in boiling water while you're at it)
