Anyone here work on Doug Nash or Richmond 5-speeds? The keys that fit into the gears have a shoulder on them, and I'm not sure if the shoulder is supposed to face toward the tapered sliders, that are moved by the fork, or away from them. |

I'd settle for an opinionated amateur. |

you mean the little bump about half way on the keys? this is on the tremec and borg warner t-5s. dont know if the doug nash or richmonds are like this but the on a tremec the "bump" faces out. |

What is labeled the "synchro assembly 1-2-3-4" has a simple key with a bump as you describe. The other keys have a T-shaped shoulder on them. I'll try to post a picture when I haven't just had multiple brewery products. |

After spending more time with the gears, I think I have it figured out. The t-shaped part of the key is toward the center of the gear, and faces away from the tapered slider, it looks like. |

Go over to UMTR's web site. I'm sure someone over there can help you out. It is the United Manual transmission Racing organization. Some day I'd like to go to one of their races. They are pretty wild from what I have seen. Rick |

I just put it together, and it all makes sense! I love it when that happens.
