So my slant just passed DEQ today.. Finally, guess 7th time is the charm:) lol anyways, now that that is over. I want to redo my exhaust. I was debating doing a flowtech red hot 24" glasspack or straight pipes.

Oregon guys im wondering, are straight pipes legal here?

Also what would you guys go with?

Its got a holley 1945 carb, egr delete. Has a dynomax super turbo muffler at the moment. Thats just not load enough for me. I want it LOUD. I have a new walker 2.5" cat to go on too since thats a requirment in Oregon. The old cat is toast its just a shell. lol thats why it took 7 tries to pass.

Thanks for the opinions.

If you want it loud then the cat alone is probably fine. If you want it quieter, add a muffler or resonator.

ok thanks. well i think from what ive been reading straight pipes are illegal. So would you think the red hot about a foot back from the cat with no tip would be loud too?

Yes, you need to have a muffler to be legal, but you also have to look at what legally constitutes a muffler. Put the cat on the end of the pipe and see if you like the sound. If so make a tail pipe and run it. If it's too loud add a muffler. If you want a loud muffler so you don't have to argue about the cat being a muffler try a Walker race bullet.

If you like loud try a Flow Master 40. The Thrush version is about $30 depending on where you buy it. They sound great at an idle on up through the rpm range.
