First off, what car? The 67 Coronet? You will need to find (or have one made) a driveshaft, with the flange that is from a car with the same wheelbase. But you will also have a problem with the shift "linkage", and possibly the speedo cable, when putting the 65 trans into a 67 car. The car has a mechanical rod linkage, while the trans has cables for shifting and the parking pawl. Your best bet is to find a 66 or 67 trans, to install.

Also, when a transmission has a output flange rather than a slip-joint, the driveshaft needs to have the slip-joint..................

HERE is one approach to converting to a cross-and-roller U-joint.
