WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS USED THESE ON THEIR DRAGCAR?

FLOWMASTER - Outlaw Series

FOR USE ON ANY RACE VEHICLE - NOT INTENDED FOR STREET USE
The Flowmaster Outlaw Series Race Mufflers are our smallest and lightest race mufflers to date.

If you are racing, why do you need a muffler? :?

Reed, some dragstrips require mufflers even on dragsters. They don't have to be as quiet as street but must keep noise to a certain level.

Ah. Thanks. That just seems odd.

Big T , I ran the Dynomax race bullet with the Clifford Shorties. Used a y-pipe into a 2 1/2 bullet overall length about 30+ inches.
Changed to MP 6 into 1 long tube with no extension, open, the car ran the same numbers. It was a bit quieter with the muffler and I do mean bit.

@ Reed... 1) I had read that some tracks are clamping down on the decibels as FOPAR stated & I live in a Apartment Complex..in a "CUL DE-SAC", So when we return from the track at a very late hour..I don't want to be an @$$#&!% to my neighbors... I have considered these or somethings else to have welded to a flange so it can be removed easily at home and the track.

@ Romeo...2) I was curious as to how they performed and see above statement

@FOPAR... 3) Thanks my friend!

If you do it right you can have a full exhaust system that is a zero horsepower loss. It's a weight gain, but no HP loss.

http://performancecarbscience.com/exhau ... id-vizard/

What it boils down to is having the right header and collector lengths, using a pressure wave termination box to keep the rest of the exhaust system from affecting the tuned length and adequate muffler flow. At the bottom of the article you can see the pressure wave termination boxes.

Terry, those mufflers will still be fairly loud. They'll knock the edge off the sound, but that's about it. :D
