Does anybody no whatever size crank damper bolt is need on a 73 /6
Neither of the two motors that I got at home have them :(

You don't need one. The bolt was used to install the damper, and a few apparently got left in when the motors were built. I have seen one or 2.

If you want one, go with 3/4-16 x 1.5" and a big washer. As Chuck shared, they generally didn't have one. It's really not necessary.

Which reminds me, I need to borrow Fopar's Balancer installation tool again. :shock: Oo-oh Richard...! :lol:

The bolt is the same as the bolt that was put in v-8 crank snouts. If you must have one, grab one off of any smallblock v-8 in the junkyard. I use these bolts to install the vibration dampener and to turn the motor over by hand when necessary.

That's what I use mine for. Note that we do NOT leave the bolt in the crank.
