OK
now my tach works correct
Ive mounted some N tires that are 23 inches instead of 27.5, I want to shif tomrow @ 75-80 dragway..Ive been told that 4500 is the point to shift.
it is all stock
so I start out in 1 then shift into 2nd @ 4500, then if need 3 rd @ 4500
is this correct..
any ideas using foot brake what rpm I stage @, then dump throttle on last yellow..any help would be apericated.

Just try different things Jon. With a stocker you will feel it quit pulling. No use to hold it there if it quits pulling. Let us know how much you pick up with the shorter tire.

well I get to the track late. 1 hour for tech line and TNT are racing while Im in line for tech..got through tech and I said Im in fro SE right , he said no that I had paid for TNT, got that all straight and told tech guy i need runs to see whats going. smaller tires/shifting now. I get one run in TNT shifting @ 4K as motor started petering out and then they call for SE times runs we got 2. I jutt put in in D as that is $$$ race..trans in D would shift into 2nd @ 3900 then 3rd @ 3200..got elimted 1st round by a Hemi jeep (new) young girl driver(pink full face helmit w/stickers)..yep. next race day 4me will be TNT . i dialed a 2low time and that was that.

The 1-2 shift at a 3900 RPM is fine for a stock engine, but 2-3 needs to be around the same engine speed. 3200 is too low and costing you ET. I would put the shifter in 2 next time and make the 2-3 shift manually. A manual 1-2 shift takes a long time and slows the car down because manual low applies the low/reverse band.

USAJon, you may eliminate some problems with a shift correction kit, see this link.

This is a kit for improving things like weak 2-3 shifts, and increasing the life of your transmission, and correct little design flaws, it is not a 'shift kit'.

BTW, Oregon Performance Transmission has a very good rep. and deliver on time.

OK
I can manuel shift, but 2day @ the track because I got there late ..I only got minimal test run of 1 shifting. i had signed up for the $$$ race..which had only 6 peeps..
$150 2win, $75 runner up..and My dialed in time was 19.40, but that was way to low as my best time was 19.524 i just got nervous that I might run out..need more seat time.
