OK, I have one of the GM HEI units that is the bracket-coil-module-heatsink combo. I have searched a lot and I have found them mentioned, but so far have not found a wiring diagram. did find a post by a kfox in 2007 that said his worked,, but I have not seen any other posts from him,, I also found the Slant Six Dan HEI post from 2006 that shows what may be the same assembly, and where Dan said it produced the wrong signal,,but the module in Dans photo looks to have three pins,, but I may not be seeing all in the photo mine is below: http://www.flickr.com/photos/13718356@N ... 760367501/ this one has three coil primary wires left to right pink, white , white with two black stripes the module has four wires top to bottom pink, white, black with two white stripes, white with two black stripes will this module work? it does look like it is a 4 pin unit,, thanks |

Hi DadTruck. Take a look at this Gm Hei Module Conversion Troubles thread. If you measure between the 3 wires to the coil, youll find that 2 of them are connected. those are for the negative post on the coil, and one of them can be used to give signals to a rev counter. Olaf. |

Olaf maybe I'm missing something,, but every module in the post you linked shows the normal 4 pin module being used. The module that I have has 4 pins,, but the 4 pins are together, they are not distributed two on each end like the modules typically shown. I do follow what you mention on the coil wires,, I'll do a continuity test to find the set that would be the coil negative and tach wire. I am still not clear on the 4 module wires that I have. thanks DT |

AFAIK you can't use that module- it's designed to be triggered by a digital (squarewave) signal sent by the GM computer. The "older" dist modules use an analog (AC sinewave) signal to trigger the coil (just like stock mopar electronic ign) |
