Hi ya all. Ok I set the valves on my 78 super six and now it acts like its flooded when I start it. Runs great on the road, idles good. I have set valves on many different engines so I'm no stranger to this. Help please! Thanks Adam

Can you describe for us the procedure you used to set the valves on this engine?

Oops I posted my reply in the wrong spot. Ok I brought each cylinder to TDC on the compression stroke and set intakes on 10 and exhausts on 20. Engine was over night cold.

It's likely too tight then. With the OEM cam, if your going to set it cold, add a thousandth or two.
The FSM method is set running, hot.
