Ok so I was driving today and got on it because some a-hole in their brand new mustang decided to ride my a**. For some weird reason the 1-2 shift I lost all electrical and the motor cut out for a split second before going back to normal operation. Any thoughts on why this happened would be appreciated.

I'd check your ground cable and ground strap to see if they are attached to the block tight...next check your starter cables...

You don't have that pesky seat belt interlock override under the hood do you?

Even if his were a '74 (only year to have the interlock) and still had the interlock, that wouldn't be it. The interlock interfaces with the starter circuit, not with the ignition or any other engine-run circuit.

Loss of full electrical is most likely due to a faulty connection at the bulkhead disconnect or at the ammeter gauge or at the fusible link connector.

I agree with Dan......check the ammeter connections or bypass altogether. Cleared up a bunch of weird electrical anomalies for me.

Had something Like this happen to me a few months back. Under hard acceleration and shifting or hitting a bump in the road my stereo would turn off. Didn't know why. I looked at the grounds and sure enough the body ground screw was loose. I put a secondary ground wire going straight to the firewall just in case.

Following up what DI said: Don't rule out the positive cable from the starter relay. I had mine short on the exhaust manifold, but only on left hand turns.....

Thanks everyone for the advice, I found that my fusible link wire was loose from its connection to the other wire.
