Post a picture of your setup, then we can see what you are working with for linkage.

The kickdown cable should be hooked up so that it pulls the opposite of the throttle cable.
If the throttle cable is above the center of the pivot the kickdown is below pivot.

Looks like the throttle will go on the bottom and the Kickdown up with the carb linkage.

You need to attach the kick-down cable in between the pivot point of that long arm that throttle cable is attached too, and the rod that couples both carburetor’s throttle plates. So when accelerator cable pulls to fire wall, kick-down cable gets pulled in direction of radiator.

You will have to fiddle around to find the proper ark, or travel distance to have throttle pressure lever on transmission bottomed out by pull of cable at the same time carburetors are full wide open.

There are some pics of he original setup here.
When using a stay, the stay pushes the kickdown lever back against its rear positon. When using a wire, you need a bracket on the transmission so the wire can be mounted in a position where it can pull the lever back.

You will fnd complete, illustrated mounting instructions for the Bouchillon cable setup here, transmission pics near the bottom of the page.

Olaf.
