Car Model:
So I was driving around a couple days ago and made a pull through 1st 2nd and 3rd everything was ok despite the trans being pretty hard to shift but thats been like that even before the rebuild it's got to be something funny with my shifter linkage right? Anyway the real question is a little while later during the drive i floored the car again from a stop through 1st gear then when i went to grab 2nd gear i missed the shift but the funny thing is, i've noticed anytime i've ever missed a shift with this trans to put it back into 1st gear gets very "mooshy" and hard to push into 1st and shift into second while normally driving the shifter would feel stiffer. Then a day or so after the shifter will go back to normal or sometimes during the same drive if i drive the car for a while longer. Does this just happen when you miss a gear or is their something odd about this? This is my first and only car so far and the other stick shift cars i've driven were newer style trans so they are cake to shift never noticed something like this in any other car besides mine.

Oh and any ideas why the trans just sucks to shift most of the time i've played with the shift rods and I had it shifting good at one point but the stop bolts kept me from being able to pull it into 4th so after i adjusted the stop bolt to allow enough throw to get into 4th went back to shifting pretty crappy "After market hurst shifter is on the 833od" is their any difference between shifter on the od and non od tranny?

Kev
