Post subject:  Oil Pans

I know I saw a thread about all the different oil pans there are for the SL6 engines, but I can't ever seem to get the search feature to work the same way twice???
Will this oil pan actually fit my 1964 Dart?

Is it as Heavy a gauge metal? or am I better off getting one from the junkyard and refurbishing it? I have a parts car, and the oil pan on it is bashed the same way as my car!

so thats a NO. It looks like the blue one in the old thread? Thanks Richard! I guess it's time to roam the junkyards! I'll hammer out the pan I've got in the meantime.

You can use a F-body pan, but it requires modifications. You need to cut the left front corner on the sump and weld in a flat piece of steel, then you need to use a V8 center link or "clearence" the pan at that point.

Found a good pan(better than the one on my car) at the salvage yard, easy to remove as motor mounts were(1) gone and(1) loose, and the rest of the motor had been picked.

Love it when that happens. I got a couple rear sump oil pans out of a truck and a van that were easy to pull thanks to previous scroungers.
