Can someone tell me the difference in ball joints from 61-62 lower ball joint from the 63 on up ball joint? I have a pair of the early ball joints however they don't seem to be the same as the later ball joints.

'60-'61 vs. '62-'72 is the interchange grouping.

So what's the differance? Earlier are rebuildable. The two NOS ball joints I have don't appear the same as the later ball joints. The later joints are more of a interfearance fit while the earlier ball joints I have appear to be loose.

Do you have 61/62 lowers? I may need a set.

60 & 61 lowers were similar to the uppers(threaded single unit), the replacement ball joint threaded into the arm, later 62 & up they made the lower ball joint assembly .

Does that mean the uppers will fit?
