It's a choke modulator, right?

A 1970 shouldn't have an electric choke, right?

It's hacked into an alternator field wire.

It seems to be working.

Is this a Mopar part for a later car?

Once I confirm it is working correctly, should I replace the oil pressure switch with a newer version and power it off of that?

Choke controller/timer. I think they started using them around '73/4. It was wired to the alternator so if you left the key on it would not open the choke and cause a no start. :D
