To Josh and others who have made adapters to mate a small input bearing retainer trans to an OD bell. How do you secure the adapter ring, and keep it from falling out into the bellhousing? I am considering going down this road, and am having a little trouble on this detail. Thanks in advance. |

My adapter ring was an interference fit on the input bearing retainer. |

Okay, thanks. That was the best option in my head, but wanted to check with someone outside my head, er, that had actually made/used one. |

I remembered this morning that an adapter came with a BB Lakewood bellhousing that I have, so I dug it out! Alas, it is 4.35" i.d., and 4.80" o.d., not all the way to 5.125"...phooey. Guess I'll have to look up a machine shop on Monday. |

What's your time frame for this? You might try the local Community College machining program. |

haha I was just going to slap in a non-od box I have laying around, so I could still drive the car while I rebuild the stock OD unit (with 260k on it). However, I may just have to pretend this never happened...Thanks for the idea, though! |
