With my 64, remove radio to get to speaker.

Removing glove box helps with removing radio.

Don't remember all the details, but it wasn't all that hard........

Very easy. Disconnect battery negative. Remove glovebox door. Remove glovebox. Pull off inner and outer radio knobs. Remove left and right radio shaft nuts. Unscrew radio rear brace. Push/pull radio forward towards engine, pull forward/downward until it clears dashboard. Unplug electrical supply connection from wire and round metal antenna connector from radio body. Remove speaker wires from speaker. Remove left and right speaker bracket nuts. Lower speaker.

Likely the radio is in need of repair. If you're not a do-it-yourselfer in this regard, see my reply to your other post (about updating the radio).

If you want to try to repair it yourself, the "PhotoFact" diagrams go across eBay pretty often.
