just finishing up my build trying to figure out the exhaust system. im thinking of headers but not sure. what im thinking now is either 6 into 1 headers, 3 into one headers, or Dutra Duals. any suggestions or anyone who has any of them for sale let me know. thanks |

I say no on 6-1 headers for anything. What you want from your vehicle and the engine's state of tune will determine whether I vote for 3-1 tube headers or Dutra's. |

The plan is to have a driver that I can take to the strip and hold my own. It is a 2 bbl carter bbd with over sized valves in a 69 head. The bottom end of the engine is stock |

The addition of headers to an otherwise stock engine will be of little benefit. Upping the compression and adding a performance camshaft along with other mods like an upgraded ignition will be better suited for header usage. A 3 into 1 header design has shown to be a better design than the 6 into 1 style. |

I used to build headers and custom exhaust systems proffesionally for several yrs and I do aggree that the 3into1 system for an inline 6 is the over all best header to go with. |

Street driver with stock type intake and BBD + wants better exhaust flow to go faster = Dutra Duals. |

For a fairly stock engine, I'm with you there Dan. |
