| Post subject: | D100 truck Overall transmission length: a833 vs 3 speed |
The previous owner did an extremely questionable 4 speed swap on my d100 pickup. I don't even want to think about the horrors lurking between the trans and flywheel. The tailshaft bushing is wore out but before I start messing with new bushings and yokes I want to be sure I have the right length driveshaft, it looks like there is quite a bit of slipyoke hanging out of the transmission. What are the relative overall lengths (longshaft) of the a833 of and common three speeds? Thanks! |

The only mention of driveshafts there was that swapping to the 833od required shortening of the driveshaft 3". Possibly the p.o used a donor driveshaft that was too short. There is 3+ inches of slip yoke extending out of the tail housing I feel like this is way too much. |
