Ok, the fuel gauge and sender in my 1952 Chrysler are not working. The gauge will be fixed when I rewire the car next month, but I took the sender out and it is pretty corroded.
For now I do have a fuel gauge, Ford/Chrysler type, 81449.
I would like to get an universal sender to work with it, but I do not know the ohm range.

Also is my aftermarket gauge the same ohm range as my factory one or will I need to change senders again?

Any info would really help!

Thank you.

Oh, also, is it possible to mount one of those universal senders to my original tank?

If the gauge IS in fact a ford/chrysler compatible gauge the factory ohm range is 10-73 ohms.(not knowing what brand of gauge you have) Empty being 73ohms... (not exact but within a small tolerance) The universal sender can be used if thats the range it operates in...

That is an unknown, due to the fact the original gauge is/was in a 6volt system..

Hope this helps...
