Dumb question #1278..I just got my 225 head back from the shop. Over sized mp valves, 340 springs, milled, ported. It may be awhile before I am able to get the motor back together, is it best to store the head on end or flat???

hey,

I always have my heads flat, i dont know how anyone else does it but if it sits for a long time i put oil on the bare metal surfaces to prevent rust and then store it away and cover it

No real science to my logic, it just stores easier that way, and doesn't have far to fall. I store mine in these heavy plastic bags which I get from Goodson. Unfortunately, they only come in boxes of 50 or so. :(
I also bolt on the valve cover, loosely, because that stores easier that way and further protects the rocker gear and such.

How much did the milling and porting cost? I'm trying to get my hands on a new 225 head that I can do that exact same stuff to (340 springs, valves ground and 3-angled, etc.).

Can you give some details on the oversized MP valves? Part numbers, prices? I assume MP = Mopar Performance.

Jopapa,

Sent you a private message. Just noticed you are in Mill Creek Wa. I am on the other side of the mountains...I assume Mill Creek is not in Eastern Wa. If it is I guess we're on the same side.
