I have a 70's ei distributor for my van"s eventual HEI conversion.

What are the chances of it and my wife's 1970 points distributor taking the same ring?

(Going to pull hers to clean and install pertronix. I was hoping to not have to run to store in the middle of that job.)

I dug out the distributor to pop off the ring and take with me to part stores.

I noticed it had 2 rings. 1 on the shaft in the groove where I expected it to be, and 1 under the hold-down.

Is the second one supposed to be there, or is that a PO hack?

2 O-rings per distributor -- one in the shank groove and one up at the top of the shank where it meets the distributor body.
