what kind of carb can i use on my 85 ram. i have a 4bbl intake, headers, and getting my new cam from from clifford. i also would like what size of cam should i use to get top performance. with the carb ive been told 390cfm is the max you want to use on a slant six. ive also been told i can go higher.

The edelbrock 500 and the holley 390 are commonly used on the /6

Anything is possible...

Both the 390 Holley and 500 Edel are good carbs for a street/strip motor or a daily driver. What do you mean by "top performance" and what will you use your truck for?

I think I would get the edelbrock instead. It just seems better built, no plastic parts and no gaskets below fuel level... Esp a plus since my holley 390 just started leaking between the screw heads and fuel bowls

I run the Edelbrock 500 on my '83 Ram. The engine is a stock 225 with Clifford intake and headers and a MP electronic ignition. I have an auto trans and used Lokar throttle cable, kickdown cable and bracket kits. This setup runs great and has given me no problems.
