So I just now got the box with my Sweet Mfg. steering universal joint in it.In the picture, I could see a nut on top of one end, and figured that was for the 3/4 inch steering shaft side( figured I would have to drill and run a pin in it or something) ......
Well, I open the box, and NOPE! that is a jam nut on an allen set screw on the splined side! The 3/4 inch side is just open . My question, am I supposed to weld this to the shaft? If so, why would they do that? What happens if I want to change things, like add a fire wall bearing, or change the way I have the car setup.
This is a question and a vent I guess.LOL Thanks!

Andrew you might have to post a picture as their website doesn't have a picture of it.

Yes, you weld or roll pin it. How are you going to set screw to a round shaft?

My plan is to drill it for a roll pin, or use a grade 8 bolt.
As for how round you set screw it- there is a 5/16 hole in the shaft for the roll pin, thought that it would go in there.
