Long time poster, although my 63's been garaged for about a year. I'm just breaking it out on the road after doing the Scarebird conversion (whew, NOT just a bolt-on solution, people!), and I need to get front end work done.

Took it to my local mechanic, he says they're going to need to "drop the front end", as it needs both tie rod ends, and all the bushings. Possibly ball joints as well.

Well, since this is the case, I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and get a kit. Something like:

Anyway, since this is all getting done, should I get a sway bar? Can anyone recommend one?

Also, what else would I need for this if in fact the Sway bar is doable.

If this is going to get crazy-custom, then I probably won't bother, but if they're doing this anyway, I figure, I might as well up the ante.

Have you ever had a car with Poly(Graphite/Urethane)bushings before?
Personal experience only. I found them Hard riding and noisy at times, I will only use rubber, except maybe for grease caps.

All my cars run poly, except for the LCA bushings which are rubber because of some issues with the T-bars walking a bit. The firmer feel goes a long way especially if you are running a non-stock slant and have installed beefier T-bars, sway bar, and better rear leafs...and those C-body tie rods...and a firm feel steering box...nothing like everything else being tight and having the rest of the suspension be the jello blob.

If you want a softer ride go rubber...or get an F or late B-body...

Thanks for the tip. MAJOR thanks, actually. Rubber it will be, then. Let's just say this ol' lady is pretty loose. I want firmness, but not 2010 Audi S5 firmness, especially when everything else is a little flabby.

Any Sway Bar ideas from anybody?

It's not canyon carver firm like an Audi, but in the heavier car it at least responds better steering and on the road.

ADDCO or Hellwig are both good swaybars. I only drive my car (don't race/hotrod), and I only have a front swaybar on my 64 Dart. It is off a later model Dart.

You want front and rear sway bars.

That's what I did on my 64.

I got the ADDCO bars. Don't get the 7/8 rear, it's too big. I got the 3/4

The front ADDCO mounting is a bit cheesy, so I had to make it better........ (I'll find the link if you need it, or just try searching site)

I installed a 1 ¼â€￾ Addco anti sway bar with [url=http://slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=304376&highlight=addco#304376]modified mount[/url] because their angle iron crap would not stay tight. A sway bar has to be fastend securely to do its job. Spend a few more bucks get a Helwig or other better designed bar.

I would recommend the Firmfeel(.com) sway bars for better mounting and installation. Firmfeel is all Mopar guys and they do nice work and race/autoX their cars.

Addco's are cheesy, as was mentioned, and need substantial fab work to make them work right and not break mounts. I do not know about Hellwig. I do not like rear sway bars on A-bodies, so I would spend money/time elsewhere and then possibly try one later after you have everything else done.

I set my cars up for perf handling on the street and/or road course.

I like rubber in my UCAs and LCAs and poly in the sway bar bushings and rear leaf bushings. Your car will handle incredibly well, even with rubber in a few places.
