I have a 1974 d100 with a 225 in it and a 904 that I just spent 650 on. The motor has a serious oil leak and rod knocks. But its been getting low on power flatly and smoking really bad. I think it has blowby on the piston rings and I don't feel like rebuilding a motor right now. I have a 360 out of a 1983 grand wagoneer that was bolted to a 727 but the trans is 4x4. Does anyone know if the 904 will bolt to the 360

Slant six transmissions do not bolt to smallblocks.

However, for less than the cost of doing the conversion correctly you can rebuilt your slant.

That '83 Grand Wagoneer engine would be the AMC 360. That won't bolt into any Chrysler product. Might see if you can trade it for a good 225.

Try fixing the oil leaks and adjusting the valves on the slant six. You might be surprised.

How do you adjust the valves?

Hmmmm. First off, I recommend you get a factory service manual for your truck.

In the meantime, here is how you adjust your valves.
