What's the best solvent to flush out hardlines that previously held DOT5? I found some odd slimy black crud in the M/C and want to be sure I get it all out.

I use the cheap gallon jugs of methyl alcohol , you can find them in the paint section of hardware stores. Flush with it and then blow out with compressed air. They also sell this as bulk gas line antifreeze.

Edit: Methyl hydrate as it is called some places,

Thanks! In the meantime I've tried denatured alcohol and that seems to be working acceptably, but I'll pick up some methyl alcohol next trip to the store.
