I while back I installed headers and new exhaust after putting on a front disc kit from mancini (which is basically corvette brakes). After getting the car to run I relized there was an insane amount of heat coming from the headers and that caused my brakes to seize while trying to drive it. So I wrapped them.

I plan to make a heat shield for the master cylinder also and might buy a bit more wrap too.

The still seem to have not completely freed up even when pushing the car (which is very difficult). Any suggestions? Someone told me maybe the brake fluid got so hot that it broke up crude in the old lines which cause a clog but I can still get on the brakes to engage them harder. O and it seems to be just the front brakes.

You need to have a little free play in the brake pedal so that the relief port in the master cylinder is open when at rest. Do you have any pedal free play? I've had to adjust my brake light switch to get a little free play and cure this very condition.

The pedal has a good amount of free play right now. Not apparent linkage issues. Any ideas on potential hydraulic issues I could be having?

Even after the engine hasn't been started for a week the car won't hardly roll.

You need to figure out which wheels(s) are dragging- then isolate it to whether it is hydraulic or mechanical. Lift the car or jack up each corner & see what turns freely- or not. Lots of underhood heat can cause fluid to "boil" in the lines which would then cause no pedal/no brakes (vapor compresses after all)

A hydraulic problem is where fluid pressure is trapped between the master cylinder & the caliper. Try loosening the line nut at the master & see if it helps. If so (& pushrod has some freeplay) then M/C is bad. If not, go towards the caliper. Try the line at the body side of the brake hose. Then the the bleeder on the caliper. If the bleeder helps but not the line at the body then it's a bad hose.

If it's not hydraulic then something is sticking mechanically- stuck piston, pad hanging on its slide, parking brake problem in the rear, etc.
