Guys, instead of pouring MORE cash into making more power with my Supra Scamp I'm thinking of fabbing some slant 6 pieces and a turbo header is one of my ideas. I'm not sure if anyone is already producing parts but it seems like with the right turbo and header, with a downpipe stub some guys could have a good starting point for a turbo project.

Thoughts?

Here's a link to my car in case anyone hasn't seen it yet: https://www.facebook.com/scrapyard6

Cool! I have often thought a 2JZ would be a great swap for a vintage mopar! I lived in Thailand for a couple of years and those guys put 1JZ/2JZ motors in just about anything RWD - BMWs, Mercedes, Nissan, Toyota. Doesn't matter whose name is on the valve cover to them.

The 2JZGTE is certainly a great engine. But dollar for dollar a boosted Slant is a better bang for the buck! Not sure that anyone wants a 2JZ swap kit but I do think Slant pieces have a small market!

Dave you would do every well to Build some sort of turbo header for the Slant. I have a spare log style turbo manifold you could copy, I also have some 1/2 SS header flanges you could copy. I'm not far from you I'm in the Jackson area.

So between FABO and this forum the hardest years to fit are early A Bodies with power steering correct? I'd like to be sure we grab the hardest application and work from that point.

So....please chime in and post pics hopefully. My daughter's Scamp is a 71' with PS and automatic. I also have an AC compressor to mock up but not sure if AC cars matter or not.

I foresee making a log/shorty style header for packaging considerations.
And I think a decision will need to be made on an intake. With boost, I think a ported offy would work well for a turbo setup.

So...please advise me gang because we have 1,000 plus years of knowledge here on the forum!

early 170 (low block) with PS. But I don't think anyone would use a 170 if they were going to boost, so plan around 225 with power steering and go from there...

It would be nice if the header fit both the low & the "tall" block SL6 engines.
A turbo 170 climbs the RPMs like a "skyrocket"... once it's on the boost.

If somebody in the Detroit area has an early car, we can look at it and see if we can work on something universal.

If the header is 2 pieces it could be universal.........

A universal header part that works on anything, then

a collector/adaptor part for different engine/turbo/placement combinations

Dave what did you come up with?
Here's some pics of the log on my next turbo motor.
