Hey,

Committed a doozy of a mistake and didn't tighten my passenger side lug nuts well enough after installing the Scarebird kit. The result: the rotor is VERY warped. Constant rubbing noises, and frankly not very good braking.

Obviously, I'm going to fix that. I've already got my new Previa rotor for the shop. My question, however, is this: is it possible the HUB ITSELF is bent??

Once the rotor's drilled out, I'll obviously be taking the hub off so I'll know this then, but wondering if anyone's ever experienced a "warped hub"?

The burn here is that hubs are not going to be terribly easy to find, so I just want to prepare myself for the inevitable.

Thanks!

I guess it was a little esoteric of a question. Looks like I'll be going it alone on this one!

Your missing a bit of detail... What does "didn't tighten well enough" mean?

If you left them loose - I don't see how that could warp anything. If you over tightened or didn't use a star pattern, that's a different story.

What's rubbing what exactly? Do you feel any pulsing when you brake?

"Tighten well enough" means the wheel. Like, it was practically loose.

I actually did look at the rotor. It is warped. It's rubbing against the caliper/pads.

Like continually.

But my hope is it's JUST a rotor and not a hub issue, too.

I still can't picture how leaving lugs loose would warp anything especially with the caliper holding it in place. Unless you got bad parts to begin with I suspect something else is amiss with fitment or assembly. Good luck!

Found the problem!

It was the rotor, with the whole thing brought on by the fact I didn't GRIND the face of the calipers enough. It had kind of ripped up the rotor as a result.
