I have finally decieded to put on a new PS pump and with all the drifferent brands out now a days I would like some recommendations on a brand of PS fluid to use. Thanks in advance. |

I use the cheap kind. Seriously, I don't see how there will be much difference in performance between brands of power steering fluid. |

Maybe go with a synthetic? Hellzbellz the dually leaks and I just dump any type ATF I have sitting around. I usually have some Honda fluid in the bed I pour in with every fill up. |

Most other manufacturers recommend ATF, but not mother Mopar! I don't have my manuals available where I sit right now, but I distinctly remember that the '78 manual says: 'Do not use ATF, only use original Mopar power steering fluid'. I don't know if it only a sale gimmick, but the fact is that after filling up first with an ATF for a very short time, and then replacing it with a US made power steering fluid 'designed to be used on ALL cars' last spring, the sector shaft seals are now leaking badly... Sam, agreed, but yours is not bad either! Olaf |

Thanks Sam and olafia but don't be fooled she does need a paint job. As for the PS fluild I picked up some Prestone that was on sale for a good price. I will tell everbody this make sure you have a good puller for the pully I almost gave up after 45 mins. of working on it when afer 1 more turn I heard a small pop and she finally gave way and started coming off. |
