Hey guys,

I'm going to install my HEI conversion tomorrow but I'm wanting to keep my ballast resistor on the firewall. So I saw somewhere else on this forum (but can't find it) that you can carve out the back and solder the prongs together with a wire from the back to keep a stock look. Well, I've been at it for about 30 minutes now and just hit the coil. Still gotta get around that and find where to solder. Anyway, this is a dual ballast resistor so I've got another side to go. Any one have suggestions on how to speed up the process? What's the best way to cut through it?

Thanks for any and all help,
Aspen76

So, problem solved - right??

And, if ya really want to keep the stock look with your new ballast resistor just solder a 12 gauge white wire around the ignition side and tuck it down by the side of the resistor. It'll be almost invisible. Or any color wire and paint it to match your firewall.
