In my '72 Duster I have a bit of a problem. Over mild bumps the front end of my car kinda does a little dance down the road and going across pavement changes or certain dips in the road the car wants to go left..hard left. I have to compensate for this while driving by turning the steering wheel almost 90 degrees just to keep the car on the road. when i apply the brakes it'll straighten sligtly but it seems that going around a slow turn will temporarily solve the problem. I've already replaced upper and lower ball joints along with inner and outter tie rod ends. one of my mopar friends said it could be the strut rod bushings...the look mildly dry-rotted but i don't see that causing such a big problem....PLEASE HELP!

I had the same kind of problem with my 65 Valiant. The person that owned it before had the front end setup to high. I just lowered the front end down a few inches and it helped. A lot of people set the front end on mopars to high. Don't know if this will help you but its not hard to try with torsion bars.

Sounds to me like the steering box is worn out.

A loose idler or pitman arm will also do this.
Once I had a strut rod break, the car would pull big time, especially on braking. It took a while before I was able to figure it out, everything looked normal when the car was just sitting there. The strut rod had broke right behind the rear of the bushing asembly and was butted together most of the time.
