Hey guys Im new on here, I am working on a 64 d100 truck, I have milled the head .100 , offenhouser 4 barrel intake and holly 390 carb. I also got a set of headers, I am converting to HEI ignition and wondering what plug to use, I have searched the past threads and see that the NGK zfr5n seems to be the plug of choice, but I know it has the longer electrode, and I have milled my head and was worried about the extended length. Anyone have any thoughts?

There was a post a while back from " surfrodder" I think it was. He had a long rod engine, zero deck and ford EDIS ignition,he torched a piston,I don't recall the whole story,it should be here somewhere. Please don't take my experience as gospel, this engine is a real unknown and isn't without it's issues,I'm only playing round with it until I get time to build a new engine. I think the ZFR plugs are good, like dusteridiot said, with a stocker and a lazy advance curve they probably help a lot, with a modified engine you will need to watch the advance...plenty of guys who know their stuff seem to use them, but I'm sure you'll get plenty of feedback from others who have more experience with them . Cheers!
