Post subject:  Crankshaft Fillet

Hi all,
I was cleaning my crankshaft ready to get it ground and i noticed that the rod fillets seem "rough/crazed", one of the fillets even has a jagged saw toothed edge on the journal side as if it had some rough machining done (the first two photos are of the worst fillet).
I don't know if this is ok or whether this crank is scrap? Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

That is normal. The filets are rolled on the crank after forging and before grinding. It is not a precision process (or at least it wasn't on these cranks).

That is common with Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth cranks. They choose to undercut the filet instead of having it ground and blended with the journals bearing surface.
